PNZY Little Tiger
Dumbo Russian Blue Agouti Roan
Below: Baby Tiger at four weeks

On January 7th, PNZY Eiko gave birth to eight babies sired by PNZY Little Tiger. One baby passed away overnight after a rough delivery, but there are still five boys and two girls that are thriving. This litter was an ongoing mystery. First, Eiko seemed pregnant after her first visit with Tiger, and was gaining weight. Then much to my surprise, she came into heat and I had to put her back in with Tiger. Then we weren't sure Eiko was actually pregnant until almost before the babies were born. Mamma Eiko seemed to be in discomfort a little over a week and a half after her last visit with Tiger. Her respiration was a bit fast and she seemed reluctant to move much. I took her to the vet who could not detect anything wrong and also said she wasn't pregnant. The vet did a radiograph to see if there were babies and found none. Eiko's weight gain had stalled, so I thought maybe if she was pregnant, she was reabsorbing the litter. After a few days. she began to gain weight again, and I wasn't sure exactly what was going on with her. False pregnancy maybe? Then much to my joy, Eiko started giving birth the morning of the 7th. Sadly by late afternoon though, her contractions had stopped although I could still feel at least one more baby. I gave the vet a heads up I might be coming in with Eiko, but then she finally birthed the last baby on her own.

Since this litter was such a rollercoaster of emotions and we really weren't sure if there were babies or not until they were actually observed, I'm calling this litter Schrodinger's Babies! All are roans and there are some rexes. Colors will be russian blue agouti. Roan is a marking that fades to white over time and these babies will be mostly white by the time they are two years old.

PNZY Dmitri Polyakov, Agouti PNZY Eve Polastri, Russian Blue Cinnamon

On January 30, 2020 PNZY Eve Polastri gave birth to 11 babies, 6 girls and 5 boys sired by PNZY Dmitri . All babies are selfs (all one color) with a few white toes here and there, and a few dumbo ears too. They are also adorable! Mamma Eve is doing a great job raising them. Lots of nice colors in this litter, dark agoutis like dad, a few fawns, and Russian blue cinnamons like mom. Although there are no roan marked rats, this is still the roan line which is known for is friendly laid back personality.
